The Hospital
Dorothea, had visited and noticed in current facilities that held the patients were, overcrowded, had terrible ventilation and other extremely poor conditions. Though, these current conditions made Dix, disgusted and quite frankly, made her probably reevaluate, whether or not this was truly worth it, actually, quite the contrary, Dix saw this as, just another hurdle to reach success. She had already imprinted it in her brain it was her responsibility, to enforce new rules and regulations to abide by, when it came to treating the ill. Dorothea, eventually, requested that she have her own facilities. Her first hospital starting with only 274 patients, but she later had founded and expanded to having over 30 hospitals. These hospitals abided by the rules she wanted implemented in every hospital, moral treatment. She would have the nurses, cater to the needs of others, having the patients feel at home with their sweet baskets and fresh, new clothing and have the men, set up and built new mattresses. The patients, were able to be involved with activities such as, Tennis and dance. Dorothea, allowed them to live normal lives. She truly believed they could be cured and helped, just with the proper assistance.

Instead, of burning and disrespectfully, chucking bodies and discarding of the remains, which was occurring in previous hospitals, Dorothea, had a proper cemetery. She was an activist for equality, and believed, a proper burial would only be appropriate to respect the ones who went before us.
